OUR CLUB

We are a friendly, accessible club that specialises in providing comprehensive equipment, materials and training for our members to develop their bookcraft skills in our bindery in central Winchester.

Our members produce an amazing range of output. Anything from leather bound books, notebooks, journals, boxes and slipcases, photo albums right through to design-led books. We’re also very strong on repairing and restoring damaged books to their former glory. Take a look at the gallery to see some of our recent work here

So whatever your interest, help and support is always readily available

We very much welcome new members and visitors – here’s how you can get involved:

New to bookbinding

We are keen to encourage anybody to ‘have a go’ and learn the basics of bookbinding as the essential foundation for undertaking most subsequent bookcraft activities. So we offer a flexible ‘Introductory Course’ held over six half-day sessions. You can then choose to consolidate your skills further with a follow-on ‘Intermediate Course’ also held over six half-day sessions. Both courses are tutored by experienced bookbinders for a cost per course of only £120.

Previous experience

Are you returning to the craft? Or perhaps you are already are active but would welcome the opportunity to exchange knowledge and skills in a friendly club environment. There are numerous benefits to Club Membership.

Day Courses

Throughout the year we arrange training days on a wide variety of bookbinding topics and techniques.  Each course is taught in our bindery by independent tutors who are experts in their field. Training is open to members and non-members.
