CLUB MEMBERSHIP

We welcome new members to join the club irrespective of whether they are beginners or are experienced amateur bookbinders.

We encourage active participation in the club and have about 30 members who mainly live in Hampshire but others come from further afield in Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex.

As a member you would enjoy the following benefits:

Open access – As a keyholder you would enjoy 24/7/365 day open access to the bindery

Extensive facilities – Full use of the extensive equipment, tools, materials and library of the club (see bindery facilities here) and, subject to availability, dedicated storage for your current projects, materials etc.

Materials – Bulk buying provides members with economical usage of all materials (board, cloth, paper etc.) on a ‘pay as you go’ basis

Day courses – Priority access and lower tuition fees for training day courses held throughout the year – a great way to help improve your skills and knowledge

Club Days – Club days on Tuesday/Friday morning (plus Wednesday evening) provide a great opportunity for members to share their knowledge and ideas – with some enjoyable and good-humoured conversation!

The club is funded by members paying an annual membership fee of £360 that can be paid by monthly or quarterly direct debit or as an annual payment.

If you are new to bookbinding we offer Introductory/Intermediate Courses to enable you to assess your enjoyment of the craft and whether club membership would be of benefit.

Interested? Why not pop in to meet us and find out more at one of our Club Days on Fridays but please contact our Club Secretary, beforehand to let us know you are coming.
